This stunning Floral Cameo Pin/Brooch, carved in White & Grey Colors and set in a simple Gold Tone setting, is unique in design from the typical cameos we've seen. There is much detail that will keep the interest of those viewing it. It is a moment in time captured for a life-time of pleasure in wearing and/or collecting. The grey background is unique also, in that it is not perfectly flat. There is a slight mound in the left side, adding an aspect of interest to the piece as though it were made from a precious stone and fit into a setting to preserve it's uniqueness. The white carving seems to stand out better on this darker surface than other cameos we've seen, yet still remain a part of it as parts seem to melt in and out of the grey, creating a whole object rather than a carving sitting on top of a colored surface. The colors seem to marry together more appropriately than other cameos we've come across. There are two very minor flaws in the carving from the time of manufacture near the center of the cameo. One is a dark spot and the other is a hole on a leaf to the upper right of the spot. Both can be seen in the photos. We personally find that these suggest an artistic impression due to adding an imperfect touch to the piece. The pin has some aging to it, so we believe this Pin/Brooch may be 5 or more years old, and the back surface of the setting shows signs of scratching suggesting that it was worn alot and loved much. There are no manufacturers markings. All in all we believe this Pin~Brooch to be in Near Mint Condition and a handsome piece for wear or display in a collection.
